ERASMUS (“European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students”) is the European Commission’s educational programme for Higher Education students, teachers and institutions. It was introduced in 1987 with the aim of increasing student movement within the European Community including the European Economic Area countries, and the Candidate Countries of Turkey and Croatia.

The Erasmus student mobility programme offers students the opportunity to undertake a period of study or work (one semester or an academic year) in another European country and for that study/work to be recognised by the student’s home institution as part of their degree with the support of the Commission of the European Communities within the current framework of the LLP Erasmus programme.

From the 1 January 2014, the new Erasmus+ programme officially started and will be replacing the current funding programmes run by the European Commission in the area of education, training, youth and sport. For further information about Erasmus +, visit: https://www.ua.gov.tr/en
