2020-2021 Fall and Spring Semester Erasmus Student Mobility for Studies Applications

 

Dear Students, Please complete the application by carefully reading the announcement text in full detail. During the application, all announcements will be published on erasmus.uskudar.edu.tr website and your communication address @ st.uskudar.edu.tr will be used as the communication channel. We strongly advise you to check your emails and announcements frequently.  

 

The activity includes that a student enrolled in a higher education institution performing part of his / her education at a partner institution, which is collaborated by an inter-institutional agreement.

 

Students who wish to participate in the 2020-2021 Fall and Spring Erasmus Program should follow the instructions below :

 

A) Eligibility Criteria:   

 

Important Note: Since the amount of grants allocated to our university by the National Agency for the academic year 2020-2021 is not yet clear, all students to be selected will have the status of “candidate grant”.

 

  • The student is a full-time student enrolled in a higher education program in any of the formal education levels (first, second or third stage) within the higher education institution,
  • a. The cumulative grade point average of the first grade (associate degree, undergraduate) students must be at least 2.20 / 4.00, 

           b. The cumulative grade point average of the second and third grade (master's, doctorate) students should be at least 3.00 / 4.00,

  •  Graduation grade obtained from the previous higher education level is used for the students who apply for the first semester at the master and doctorate level and who have not yet created a transcript in the selected higher education institution.
  • Having sufficient ECTS credit load for learning mobility,
  • If Erasmus activities have been used before in the current education level, the total mobility period with the new activity cannot exceed 12 months. 

 

B) Application Steps:   

 

Students are required to apply through the “ Erasmus + Online Information System ” page between 07 February 2020 and 09 March 2020.

  • Students also signed application form (2 copies) , together with the current GPA shows transcripts (2 copies), 09 March 2020 until 17.30 Central Campus, 1st floor 106 which should be handed over to the Erasmus office. Applications that are not submitted or submitted with a missing signature will be considered invalid.
  • Proof of language proficiency required by the partner university (Applicants with a language requirement other than English at the university of choice)
  • The applicants will take the English Proficiency Exam which will be held on 11 March 2020 by Uskudar University Foreign Languages ​​Coordination Office. 
  • The final results of the application process ( students who are eligible to benefit from Erasmus Mobility ) will be announced on 31 March 2020
  • Time interval for waiver: 01.04.2020 - 10.04.2020, -10 points will be deducted from the next applications of students who waived after the specified date range.

C) Application Considerations   

  • Each student will be selected for 1 semester, Fall or Spring.
  • Carefully review the academic calendar of your preferred institution before your choice.
  • It is compulsory to take 30 ECTS courses in one semester.
  • It is the responsibility of the applicants to examine the application conditions, quotas and required language requirements of the university of your choice. Please check carefully the application requirements of the universities you prefer before application.
  • In line with the agreements made with Partner Universities, we have at least 1 person for each contracted university for Fall and Spring (in each semester).

 

D) Transcript   

 

The student's GPA must meet the minimum requirements at the application stage. The last transcript obtained by the student is used to determine the grade point average. Graduation grade obtained from the previous higher education level is used for the students who apply for the first semester at the master and doctorate level and who have not yet formed a transcript in the selected higher education institution. Similarly, for those students who have passed from another higher education institution through horizontal or vertical transfer and have not yet achieved a grade point average in the selected higher education institution, the grade points in the last transcript from the higher education institution they come from are taken into consideration.

 

 

E) Foreign Language Exam

 

  • All candidates of Üsküdar University will be invited to the foreign language ( English) exam prepared by Foreign Languages Coordinatorship to be held (11 Mart 2020). The exam will be at B2 level.    
  • Applications without English exam score B2 will not be processed.
  • Previously only December 9, 2019, dated Üsküdar University for Foreign Languages English proficiency test conducted by the Erasmus Program Coordinator to have candidates who attended the exam scores they have received for this application can use. The scores of proficiency exams they have participated in the past will be void. Students are required to submit a petition to the Erasmus Office before the exam in order to be able to register the language proficiency exam they have taken on 09 December 2019.
  • Candidates who have a valid (B2) exam result certificate for one of the exams stated in the table below should apply to the Erasmus Office with a petition on 09 March 2020 at the latest.
  • Students who do not apply to the Erasmus Office with a petition until 09 March 2020 are required to take the foreign language exam to be held on 11 March 2020 in order to use the exam result given by Üsküdar University Foreign Languages Coordinatorshipon 09 December 2019.

F) Selection Criteria    

Student selection will be made among the applicants who meet the minimum requirements by taking into consideration the evaluation criteria and weighted scores in order of ranking from the highest to the bottom.

Academic achievement and foreign language scores of students who have previously benefited from higher education students or internship mobility within the scope of Lifelong Learning Program or Erasmus + within the same level of education are calculated and 10 points reduction is applied for each activity (without distinction between education and training). 

 

The evaluation criteria and weighted scores that will be used to evaluate the 2019/2020 academic year applications are as follows:

1 In order to prioritize, the student must submit a letter from the Ministry of Family and Social Policies stating that there is a decision on protection, care or housing in accordance with Law No. 2828.

According to Article 21 of the Anti-Terror Law No. 3713 of 12/4/1991, as well as combat veterans, their spouses and children, and the spouses and children of war martyrs, in they may exercise their duties even if they perform their duties at home and abroad In accordance with Article 7 of the Decree Law no. 667 of 23 July 2016, the coup attempt and terror act carried out on 15 July 2016 and the spouses and children of those who were injured, killed or killed as a counterpart to the acts of terrorism. the spouses and children of civilians who have lost their lives due to further actions or civilians who are disabled and their spouses and children shall be prioritized if they apply for Erasmus + student mobility.

 

In case of a previous benefit, the application of -10 points does not apply to the mobility of previous education level or other than student/internship mobility. It is applied if a student who has mobility applied again within the same education level.

 

-10 points ”reduction is applied to the students who have been selected in the previous education period in the same level of education but who have not been entitled to do so without any force majeure.

 

Students studying in double major can apply for mobility from only one major in the same application period.

 

G) Quotas     

 

Quotas for Erasmus Student Mobility of Learning will be determined according to the following criteria;

  • Part of the Interagency Agreements,
  • Quotas of Departments,
  • Erasmus Points,
  • 2020-2021 Erasmus Program Grant for the Academic Year

Erasmus Office reserves the right to re-determine the numbers of the students on the basis of the faculty.

 

H) Total Operating Time  

Within the same education level of a student (undergraduate, graduate, doctorate), the duration of student mobility during the Lifelong Learning Program and the period of student mobility during the Erasmus + period cannot exceed 12 months in total. Even if the grant is not awarded, the total duration of student mobility activities within the same education level should be planned in a way not to exceed 12 months.

 

When the student completes his / her current education level and moves to a new education level (for example, when the undergraduate education is completed and the graduate education starts), it is possible for the student to perform mobility again for a maximum of 12 months. Thus, it is possible for the same person to perform mobility up to a maximum of 36 months at a maximum of 12 months in each education level.

 

Study mobility cannot be less than 3 months.

 

I ) Mobility Grants

Students take mobility grants allocated by the Turkish National Agency from the university budget. Grants are only contributions, not to cover the student's full costs for the activity.

) Additional Grant for Students with Economic Opportunities

In addition to the monthly grants set out in Table 4, an additional grant of € 100 per month from the learning mobility budget is paid to economically limited students selected for study mobility (SMS). Within the scope of Article 2 of the Law on Encouraging Social Assistance and Solidarity, dated 29.05.1989 and numbered 3294, students who receive a pension due to their mother or father or themselves can benefit from additional grants for the economically disadvantaged. In order to benefit from the additional grant, the student selected for mobility must apply to the Erasmus office before signing the Grant Contract and submit a document indicating that he / she receives a pension from the Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor and Social Services.

 

K) Deduction of Payments

If documents proving participation in mobility (certificate of attendance or substitute transcripts that replace it are not submitted, mobility will be considered invalid and the student will not be paid a grant;

 

- Within the scope of Erasmus Student Mobility, our students will be donated for a maximum of 4 months and 15 days for 1 semester.

 

- The student with the highest score in the reserve ranking as a result of the waiver will be evaluated on the basis of the Department / Faculty / University and transferred to the quota remaining in the other departments.

 

- Substitute students will be placed according to their preferences for learning mobility.

 

- High placement (s) among students who prefer the same school have priority over placement.

 

-10 points will be applied in the next applications if the students who are in reserve for another mobility have not waived within the specified period.

 

- 01.11.2020 the evaluation of the reserve list will end.
